Everyone Meet Hank

Wherein Ryan gets a dog…

I had threatened to do it. I had said I was going to wait till my thesis was finished. An opportunity came up that I couldn’t pass up. Ladies and gentlemen of the internet, I would like you to meet my dog, Hank Venture.

There is clearly no arguing that Hank is the coolest dog ever. He’s a Chihuahua mix. The mix no one can really determine, but they think its a fox terrier of some kind due to his pointed ears and sharp un-Chihuahua-like snout. Hank was found wandering around a park in Mesa, Arizona with no ID chip and no tags. He was found by the Arizona Animal Rescue Society and after a few weeks of searching for the owner went up for adoption. I found him on their website and adopted him. Ol’ Hank is about a year old, he’s neutered and more or less house trained. He’s about 7 lbs and probably won’t get much bigger due to the Chihuahua part of the equation.). He’s a quiet, laid back little guy who barks seldomly (but when he does oh MAN is it piercing.)

Hank and I have to struggle through the seperation anxiety, house-rules, change in feeding habits portion of our new living arrangement over the next couple of weeks, so I’ll keep everyone posted with graphic detail.

Until then, wish me luck! It should be exciting to say the least.

I went to E3. So there.

Sorry it’s been so long since I updated. People probably don’t even check this site anymore, but what the hey, let’s do this. Last week I fulfilled a life-long dream of mine and attended the E3 Video Game expo. It was a cacophony of video gaming goodness, with booth-babes a plenty and plenty of new games, playable and otherwise, to take a look at. The E3 also marks a few other firsts for me. It was the first major car trip the Prius has been on. It performed quite well, though the gas mileage on the highway isn’t quite as good as in town. It was about a 6.5 hour trip to LA, and we had to fill up once, and again on the way back. It was also my first time in California. LA is a busy city, parts of it beautiful, parts of it gross. The traffic is nearly unbearable though. Regardless, it was a good trip, and I had a great time hanging out with Katie and Jeremy in their apartment in Studio City. We also saw Star Wars: Episode 3, which was much better than the previous two movies in the prequel trilogy. Tomorrow I might be doing something a bit crazy and adopting a dog. I’ll keep you posted in regards to that. Everything else is good and I’ve fallen into a pretty normal schedule. Work is still great, and I still can’t say anything about it. I’ve been spending a lot of time at the office in the last few weeks though.
